Rickstar collaborates with innovative filmmakers, Daniel Tantalean, Jennifer Winterbotham, and Andrew Hendrix to create a cosmic love story as the backdrop for "Been Around the World". The music video creates a 90s throwback, yet futuristic look to highlight the journey Rickstar takes into deep space. He desperately attempts to construct a rocket ship to lift him beyond the New York City skyline, speeding him off into the stars to free his dream girl from a capsule floating in another galaxy.

Starting with the title, I named it Moment Of Clearance because whatever purpose the project would serve in my discography, I wanted it to touch on every aspect of my life, and kind of just free a lot of demons, a lot of ideas, and tell the stories I've been wanting to get out into the universe in the best way that I can. 

The project is exactly what the title infers, it's a long vent, spanning on topics of growing up, standing out, fitting in, relationships, second chances, and day to day life from the mind of a 16 year old boy.

The song came about months later, but of me finally opening up about a past ex-fling that kinda took me by surprise, as far as her being unlike any other girl I've ever met. As far as her originality and being so comfortable in her skin. I was very found of her and learned a lot about myself through her. Long story short, she disappeared. Never knowing the reason why allowed me to make small assumptions of her reason but I'll never know the truth. 

C. Malloy is a very good friend of mine and growing musically as well. He has his wildcard movement. I penned the entire song but my singing isn't up to par so I requested his assistance and by no surprise he nailed it. I knew as my premiere video I had to give em a story and truth is the video turned out exactly how I pictured it plus some. 

The director was very open to work around my ideas and we meshed all the way through. Everyone involved in the video were friends and I'm really excited about the next song and video "9ta5"

The record "Seconds Away" was something I wrote generally to inspire people, something everyone could identify with. I had the thought of "If you live long enough there will be something in life that tests you to the point of almost giving up. But it's in those times when your fight is gone and you can't fix it that you realize God is the only one that can change this, so you pray and that's when you realize He is only seconds away. 

The song was produced by my team GroundXero Entertainment, myself, my brother Jeremy McCarter and very close friend Calvin McHoward. 

I'm currently working on a full album set for release mid 2014 entitled 8

LS Films came up with the concept of me basically trying to get home, then I get stranded at some broken down gas station while my car is on E and my phone loses reception and all the above! So I'm basically trying to get home as soon as possible to my girl to be with her. We thought it would give the song a more meaningful vibe, instead of just doing the typical rnb video in a bedroom somewhere (no pun intended) and it keeps it safe for viewing of all ages.
